Fame and Misfortune

"Hit me Baby One More Time", started out Britney Spear's career as such an innocent and admirable young rising star that would inspire millions of jovenile girls. Although her singing talent did bring her to success and fame, ultimately it brought her down to depths of misery. She has been through it all- a bitter divorce, excessive use of drugs and alcohol, losing custody of kids , in and out of rehab, suicide attempts and gaining an incredibly degrading reputation. However, the infamous star finally admits to "feeling lost" and seeks for rehabilitation help. But who is to really blame for her misfortunes? Was her fame and fortune too much to bare? Was it troubles in her personal life involving her husband, children, family and friends? Or is she merely just a victim of insanity?

In the 1990's and into the early 2000's Britney Spears had it all. She was young, hot , idoloized by millions of fans and had hit CDS that were sold out everywhere. Unforunately, as she the years went on we saw a negative transition in her career, and she no longer became the star dancing around to "Toxic" or "In the Zone." She became completely out of control and lacked to take responsibility for anything in her life, not her family and children nor her career that has now hit rock bottom.

In my opinion I put the papparazzi and the media at blame for most of her downfall. The public becomes too overwhelming and don't allow celebrities to live a normal life. They are always in their business and try to look for the flaws to provide entertainment for the public. This is not a positive thing. We see evidence of this in the life of celebrities such as Lindsey Lohan. It really is a shame how these talented people could reach such great heights of success and then fall into severe depression.

Although I always wished to be a a famous celebrity because you are rich and popular and live the "American Dream." Looking back on celebrities especially Britney Spears I realized I wouldn't want to live like that. She had everything any young star could dream of and look at where she is now. All the millions and millions of dollars she has made, means nothing now because shes alone and miserable. I don't see fame as a fortune anymore. In my eyes it has suddenly become an extreme and utter misfortune.
