Rating the Final 20!

American Idol has kicked off its seventh season and is now down to the final 20! What do you think of the talen of the remaining contestants? Jason Castro has shocked everyone from going to an invisible contestant to a hopeful celebrity. His performance of "DayDream" was a lifesaver for him. Asia'h Epperson has caught the heart of thye judges from the very beginning and I think she will continue to do so. I think she is a big threat to her competition. Brooke White , to me is too much of a karoke singer. I feel there are better voices out there. Just as Simon claimed, David Cook is nothing without his guitar. He is way to vulernable. As for Kady Malloy, she is still being haunted for her horrid Britney Spears impersonation. In my opinion, I feel this is the wrse season yet. I have been a big fan of American Idol since season one back in 2002. I think the show is getting too played out and the talent just isn't as great as it was back in earlier seasons. My favorite season was number two. Clay Aiken , Ruben Studdard and Kimberly Locke were all star studded performers. There is really no one that wows me in this season. If I had to choose I would say Asia'h is my favorite and has the most potential to win. The following is the list of the remaining 20:

David Archuleta
Robbie Carrico
Jason Castro
Chikezie
David Cook
Kristy Lee Cook
Asia'h Epperson
David Hernandez
Michael Johns
Alexandréa Lushington
Kady Malloy
Ramiele Malubay
Luke Menard
Syesha Mercado
Danny Noriega
Amanda Overmyer
Carly Smithson
Alaina Whitaker
Brooke White
Jason Yeager

Who will be the next American Idol?

Winners Rejoice at 2008 Oscars (fashion show).

The 2008 Oscar's took place on February 24, 2008. The media was sure to be present at this one as we witnessed what celebrities won what, what they wore and what they said. The Kodax Theater was filled with big smiles as "No Country For Old Men" seem to be the biggest hit at this event. It was an Academy award winner for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and best Adapted Screen Play. I was quite appauled at the results. I saw this movie when it came out and I didn't really find it that incredible. "Juno" won best orginal screen play which I was very content with. I saw that movie and I found it very inspiring and touching, yet comical at the same time. Other movies that took home academy several awards were "Freeheld", "Atonement" and "There will be Blood." I cannot imagine how thrilled those involved in these movies must be. That is truly an amazing accomplishment to win an Oscar. What I find great about the Oscar's is that what people tend to care about most is who wears what to the event. The next day in the News you always hear criticism about the attire of the celebrities. It is just so irrelavant. The purpose of the Oscar's is to acknowledge award winning movies and congratulate them for their success throughout the year. It's not a fashion show, although that what many people make it out to be. . Some of the celebrities who I thought were the best dressed were as follows: Amy Adams, Heidi Klum and Renee Zellweger. Some of the worst dressed I felt were Ellen Page (way to plain), Hilary Swank (her dress was extremely odd and weird) and Kelly Preston (what an ugly color for a dress!) So, what did you think of the celebrity style for this Oscars?

Are Celebrities victims of "Defamation" ?

I was browsing through the interent looking for some articles on defamation for my Business Law class and I came across a very interesting one, that relates to my blogs. It was titled "Celebrity Lawsuits" and it discusses celebrities who have sued for libel, slander and defamation of character. Defamation occurrs frequently in the media. We hear rumors everyday on TV , in the newspaper and in magazines. However, I feel we see it most with celebrities. I feel that they definitely have it the hardest with slander and libel. There is always something in new about celebrities that is very demeaning and can damage their reputation and ultimately their career. The thing that gets me the most is half the stuff the media uses to get the publics attention isn't even true. The stuff that is true is really of no great significance and shouldn't even be publicated to other parties. For example, why must we all know that Britney Spears didn't wear underwear under her dress. Or why does anyone care that Cameron Diaz takes topless pictures. The media is so absurd and this is the kind of stuff they try to use to gain more publicity. Although some of the statements they may make about celebrities are indeed the truth, they must be very cautious when claiming a statement of fact. I feel that what the media tells the public is really not a need to know basis and I feel that they really don't have qualified privlage to make claims about celebrities to just be more entertaining. I feel that the media acts with extreme reckless disregard for the truth and privacy of celebrities. According to the article I found, there have been many cases in which celebrities have sued for libel and slander, which draws a conclusion that celebrities are in fact victims of defamation, just as we all are. To read up on these cases , check out the website: http://www.personal-injury-info.net/celebrity-lawsuits.htm.

New Gossip : Roger Clemens takes steroids ?

There has been a huge debate going on over whether or not Roger Clemens has used steroids. This controversy is putting his entire baseball career into question, due to the fact that the use of steroids is illegal in this sport. Is this just a rumor? Or did this famous baseball celebrity really use steroids? Many say they see signs of steroid effects, such as rages and the fact that he hasen't gotten worn out as he got older. Although we take these accounts into considertion, we really don't know if he did use them. His trainer, Brain McNamee has claimed his use of steroids , insisting that he hsa clear evidence. He has needles of his steroids usage dating back to 1998. This statement appauls me , because I find it very odd that he would save used needles for ten years. This makes the story even more suspicious. In fact, I find this whole ongoing debate completely absurd and ridiculous. There are crimes and wars and terrible incidents occurring in our world that are of much greater importance than this. I am aware that steroids are illegal in baseball, but in my opinion it is being blown out of proportion.Sadly, it has become one of the biggest and most populous stories occurring in our nation. How retarded!! It's quite sickening how Americans are more concerned if a celebrity sticks a needle in his body to increase his performance at baseball, while thousands of soldiers are being killed in Iraq. It just goes to show how powerful gossip really is.

Where are they now? -- American Idol Contestants

"A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson began one of the most amazing journeys America would ever encounter in the Entertainment World. It seems like just yesterday when American Idol show just began and we amazed at this new fantastic show. It brought the chance to millions of talented Americans to shine and show off truly one of life's best gifts- a beautiful voice. American Idol has been on air for almost a decade now and we have seen so many new potential stars come and go. However, did you ever wonder where they are now? Did their appearance in American Idol get them the big break? Or are they right back to where they started?

Some people have benefitted greatly from their participation. Let's take a look at Diana Degarmo. She came in second place to Fantasia Burrino. Now the young star has recorded an outstanding album and has played in the Broadway musical "Hairspray." Now let's look at a downfall. How about someone like William Hung. This horrible singer never made it past the first audition but ironically has made over a million dollars. I am appauled that a man without absolutely no singing talent could become so famous off of butchering Ricky Martin's song "She Bangs." How about Julia Demato from season 2. Coming in 10th place she was a big hit and unforunately never has made something of herself in the entertainment business. She nows lives in Connecticuit with her one year old son and is a hairstylist. Remember the little country girl Carmen from season 2 as well. She is now married and remains to just be a local celebrity. However, her first country CD is coming out shortly. Although many did not make it anywhere in the Entertainment world, we did get several extroadinary singers who have benefitted greatly to the world of entertainment. Just to mention a few we have Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Jordin Sparks, etcc..

Let's find out who wil be the next American Idol!!!

Fame and Misfortune

"Hit me Baby One More Time", started out Britney Spear's career as such an innocent and admirable young rising star that would inspire millions of jovenile girls. Although her singing talent did bring her to success and fame, ultimately it brought her down to depths of misery. She has been through it all- a bitter divorce, excessive use of drugs and alcohol, losing custody of kids , in and out of rehab, suicide attempts and gaining an incredibly degrading reputation. However, the infamous star finally admits to "feeling lost" and seeks for rehabilitation help. But who is to really blame for her misfortunes? Was her fame and fortune too much to bare? Was it troubles in her personal life involving her husband, children, family and friends? Or is she merely just a victim of insanity?

In the 1990's and into the early 2000's Britney Spears had it all. She was young, hot , idoloized by millions of fans and had hit CDS that were sold out everywhere. Unforunately, as she the years went on we saw a negative transition in her career, and she no longer became the star dancing around to "Toxic" or "In the Zone." She became completely out of control and lacked to take responsibility for anything in her life, not her family and children nor her career that has now hit rock bottom.

In my opinion I put the papparazzi and the media at blame for most of her downfall. The public becomes too overwhelming and don't allow celebrities to live a normal life. They are always in their business and try to look for the flaws to provide entertainment for the public. This is not a positive thing. We see evidence of this in the life of celebrities such as Lindsey Lohan. It really is a shame how these talented people could reach such great heights of success and then fall into severe depression.

Although I always wished to be a a famous celebrity because you are rich and popular and live the "American Dream." Looking back on celebrities especially Britney Spears I realized I wouldn't want to live like that. She had everything any young star could dream of and look at where she is now. All the millions and millions of dollars she has made, means nothing now because shes alone and miserable. I don't see fame as a fortune anymore. In my eyes it has suddenly become an extreme and utter misfortune.

Cinema Entertainment

What's going on in the world of movies? There happens to be some very good movies that can meet the interests of a variety of audiences out in theaters now. This week's "Spotlight" according to movies.com, is "The Eye" starring Jessica Alba. A thrilling fright of a girl who through experimental procedur gets her sight back and ironically wishes against it because her visions are now immensely haunting. "Strange Wilderness" starring Steve Zahn and Allen Covert as the hosts of a reality show. Meant to be a humorous and comical movie, it unforunately has poor ratings. Also in this week which I can foreshadow will be a big hit to young girls is the "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both World's Concert." Inspired by the Disney channel series "Hannah Montana" , this movie happens to rock the audiences. To find out more about upcoming movies you can visit http://movies.go.com/newandupcoming. I happen to like Miley Cyrus myself and she is admired by a large amount of young girls. I just hope she doesn't turn into a bad influence like Jamie Spears, who is now sixteen and pregnant or all the other young pop stars like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen who are idolized by young girls. It is so depressing how our generation looks up to poor role models like them. But , what can you do! We have no one to blame but the entertainment business for being so persuasive. Anyhow, check out these movies as well as the website to see what else is playing!
